Monk Cocoon Quick Start Guide

Follow the steps below to get your tub connected and ready for your first plunge.

Cocoon works two ways: connected to a chiller (like the Monk Shiver or Shiver Pro) for a maintained temperature, or on its own with ice for a simpler, standalone setup. The steps below cover both.

1. Unpack your tub. Take off the lid and remove the items packed inside the tub cavity.

2. Protect the tub and turn it over. Lay a towel or soft blanket on the floor to protect Cocoon from scratches, then carefully lay the tub upside down. Two people are required to manoeuvre the tub safely — please don't attempt this alone.

   

3. Access the hoses. Remove the screws using the supplied screwdriver, then lift away the black base plate. You'll find the two pre-installed hoses (inlet and outlet) underneath.

   • Using a chiller? Leave both hoses connected and move on to step 4.
   • Not using a chiller? Unscrew the inlet hose and replace it with the supplied blanking cap — this stops water escaping. Run the outlet hose out through your chosen exit (step 4) and attach the supplied drain valve to the end.

   

4. Choose your hose exit. Pick whichever exit point gives the shortest, straightest route to your chiller (or to your drain). Remove the corresponding exit block and feed the hoses through — both hoses if you're using a chiller, or just the outlet hose if you're not. Exit blocks only need to come out of the exit you're actually using — leave the others in place.

   

5. Refit the base plate. Attach it using the screws and screwdriver, tightening until secure. Don't overtighten — this can damage the threads.

   

6. Turn the tub upright and position it where you'd like it. If you're using a chiller, connect it now, following the instructions in its own user manual.

7. Fill the tub. Using a hose over the side, fill to your desired level. Inside the tub you'll see 3 engraved fill lines — if you're not sure which to use, start with the lowest. Once you've reached your chosen line, you're ready to turn on your chiller.

   

Just like that you're now ready to plunge!
