1.0 Warranty Period
Monk offers a 24-month limited warranty from the date of delivery to the original end user. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that arise under normal residential use. Coverage includes the repair or replacement of defective components, or replacement of the unit if a repair is not possible.
2.0 Component-Specific Warranties
This warranty covers:
- Chiller and compressor system: manufacturing defects affecting cooling performance.
- Electrical systems and controls: failures caused by defective materials or assembly.
- Fittings, hoses, and internal filter assembly: leaks or connection faults caused by workmanship defects.
3.0 Exclusions and Limitations
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear or cosmetic marks.
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or failure to follow official safety and maintenance instructions.
- Electrical damage due to power surges, moisture exposure, or use of non-rated extension cables.
- Freezing damage or operation outside permitted temperature ranges.
- Commercial or rental use without Monk’s written approval.
- Self-repair, modification, or unauthorised servicing.
- Operation in humid, enclosed, or dusty environments contrary to safety guidance.
4.0 Operating & Safety Guidelines
To maintain your Monk Shiver’s performance and ensure continued warranty coverage, you must use and maintain the product strictly in accordance with the Safety & Operating Instructions provided in the Monk Shiver User Manual, available in your user manual and on this help centre article.
Failure to follow these instructions, including requirements for ventilation, drainage, electrical safety, water management, and winterisation, may void your warranty.
Monk accepts no responsibility for faults or damage caused by misuse, modification, or operation outside the specified guidelines.
5.0 Relocating Your Shiver
When moving your Shiver, always keep it upright to protect the compressor. Improper transport or storage (e.g., tilting, rolling, or laying flat) can cause permanent internal damage not covered under warranty.
6.0 Service Process
6.1 Remote Troubleshooting
All warranty assessments begin with remote troubleshooting. You may be asked to provide photographic or video evidence to assist diagnosis. Failure to provide reasonable evidence may delay or invalidate a claim.
6.2 Courier Replacement
If a covered fault is confirmed, Monk will arrange a courier return and replacement. Replacements may include refurbished units that have been inspected, sanitised, and tested to perform as new.
6.3 EU Customers
Products shipped to the EU are sold on a Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis.
If you are charged import duties or VAT for a warranty replacement, Monk will reimburse these costs once you provide valid proof of payment (e.g., courier/customs receipt). Monk will not reimburse duties or taxes on return shipments unless pre-agreed.
7.0 Remedies and Warranty Continuation
- If a defect covered under this warranty is confirmed, Monk will repair or replace the unit at its discretion.
- Any repaired or replaced product remains covered for the remainder of the original 24-month period; the warranty period does not reset or extend.
8.0 Procedure for Claims
- Contact support@discovermonk.com or raise a ticket at discovermonk.com.
- Include your order number, delivery date, description of the issue, and supporting photos or video.
- Our team will assess eligibility and advise next steps.
