This warranty applies to the Monk Shiver Pro Commercial chiller supplied to commercial/business customers under a Monk for Business account. It does not apply to standard (residential) Shiver or Shiver Pro units — see the Monk Shiver & Shiver Pro Limited Home Use Warranty for those.
1.0 Warranty Period
Monk offers a 12-month limited warranty from the date of delivery to the original commercial end user, covering the Shiver Pro Commercial chiller.
This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship arising under normal commercial use, subject to Section 10 (Monk for Business Subscription Requirement).
Coverage includes repair or replacement of defective components, or replacement of the unit if a repair is not possible.
2.0 Component-Specific Warranties
This warranty covers:
- Chiller and compressor system: manufacturing defects affecting cooling performance.
- Wet components: defects in the coating causing corrosion under normal commercial use where water chemistry has been maintained within the ranges set out in the Monk for Business Maintenance Guide
- Electrical systems and controls: failures caused by defective materials or assembly.
- Fittings, hoses, and internal filter assembly: leaks or connection faults caused by workmanship defects.
3.0 Exclusions and Limitations
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear or cosmetic marks.
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or failure to follow the Monk for Business Maintenance Guide.
- Electrical damage due to power surges, moisture exposure, or use of non-rated extension cables.
- Freezing damage or operation outside permitted temperature and/or humidity ranges.
- Corrosion, scaling, or coating failure caused by operating with bromine outside the 4.0–6.0 mg/l target range, pH outside 7.2–7.6.
- Damage caused by failure to follow the filter rotation schedule or cleaning process set out in the Monk for Business Maintenance Guide.
- Damage caused by failure to change the water at or before the TDS threshold as recommended in the Monk for Business Maintenance Guide
- Self-repair, modification, or unauthorised servicing.
- Operation in humid, enclosed, or dusty environments contrary to safety guidance.
- Use outside the commercial facility without Monk's prior written approval.
- Use of cleaning products not explicitly recommended in the Monk for Business Maintenance Guide
4.0 Operating & Safety Guidelines
To ensure continued warranty coverage, you must operate and maintain your Shiver Pro strictly in accordance with:
- the Monk for Business Water Maintenance Guide, the current version of which is hosted at https://help.discovermonk.com/hc/en-gb and supersedes any prior version or printed copy; and
the Safety & Operating Instructions in the Monk Shiver Pro User Manual (ventilation, drainage, electrical safety, winterisation). - Bromine must be maintained as the primary disinfectant (target 4.0–6.0 mg/l, pH 7.2–7.6), with ozone used only as a secondary treatment, in line with PWTAG TN71. Operating on ozone alone is not commercially compliant and is not covered by this warranty.
Failure to follow this guidance may void your warranty.
5.0 Relocating your Shiver Pro
Always keep the unit upright to protect the compressor. Improper transport or storage (e.g. tilting, rolling, or laying flat) can cause permanent internal damage not covered under warranty.
6.0 Service Process
Your Monk for Business Subscription includes access to priority support, with first reply times within 48 hours of contact. Our team will diagnose issues and repair/replace as a top priority.
6.1 Remote Troubleshooting
All warranty claims begin with remote troubleshooting. You may be asked to provide photographic or video evidence, including water testing records (bromine, pH, TDS), to support diagnosis. Failure to provide reasonable evidence may delay or invalidate a claim.
6.2 Repair, Courier Replacement, or Technician Visit
If a covered fault is confirmed, Monk will arrange repair, component replacement, or unit replacement at its discretion. Replacements may include refurbished units that have been inspected, sanitised, and tested to perform as new. Replacement units may include units with aesthetic differences, but will always be of equal or higher performance specification.
This warranty does not guarantee a specific repair or replacement turnaround time or an on-site service level agreement.
7.0 Remedies and Warranty Continuation
- If a defect covered under this warranty is confirmed, Monk will repair or replace the unit at its discretion.
- Any repaired or replaced product remains covered for the remainder of the original 12-month period; the warranty period does not reset or extend.
8.0 Procedure for Claims
- Contact support@discovermonk.com or raise a ticket at discovermonk.com.
- Include your order number, delivery date, issue description, recent water testing records, and supporting photos or video.
- Monk will assess eligibility and confirm next steps.
9.0 Customer Responsibilities
- Maintain water chemistry within the ranges set out in the Monk for Business Maintenance Guide
- Follow the filter rotation and cleaning schedule and clear the built-in filter of debris frequently, in accordance with the Monk for Business Maintenance Guide.
- Change water at or before the TDS threshold or the 14-day cap, whichever is sooner.
- Maintain an active Monk for Business Subscription for the covered unit for a period of at least one year.
- Report defects promptly.
- Protect units from excessive splashing, and implement cable and hose management to reduce the risk of damage to units from trips and slips.
- Adherence to all guidance in the Monk for Business Maintenance Guide.
- Failure to comply with the above may void warranty coverage.
10.0 Monk for Business Subscription Requirement
This warranty is conditional on maintaining an active Monk for Business Subscription for the covered chiller throughout the warranty period. If your subscription lapses or is cancelled, warranty coverage is suspended from the date of lapse and does not apply to defects arising, or claims made, during any period without active cover.
This condition applies to Monk's discretionary warranty cover only. It does not affect, exclude, or limit any statutory rights available to you, as set out in Section 11.
Extension of the Monk for Business subscription beyond the warranty expiration does not extend warranty coverage. All other benefits, including priority support and discounted filter supply continue.
11.0 Post-Warranty Support
Monk provides paid replacement and repair support beyond the warranty period, subject to parts availability and an active Monk for Business Subscription.
