If your Monk wont turn on, don’t panic! Please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Check your plug socket spec. Please ensure that your Monk is plugged into a power socket with a dedicated 240v / 13A domestic power supply. You must use the RCD lead provided with your Monk.
If you place your Monk outside and use an extension cord, you will need to use a Weatherproof Connection Box and ensure the power cord is suitable for outdoor use. If you’re unsure, please consult an electrician.
Step 2: Check your plug socket is working and turned on. The easiest way to check is to plug another device into the socket to see if it powers on.
Step 3: Check the RCD on your power lead. This is the black safety device (also known as a residual current device) that switches off electricity automatically if there is a fault.
Locate the two buttons on the RCD power lead that say “test” and “reset”. Press “reset” and the indicator light should turn red. Then push the “test” button and the indicator should turn black. If this does not occur, there could be a fault – please contact Monk.
If the indicator light does turn black, press “reset” again and Monk should turn on.
Step 4: If Monk still doesn’t turn on, open the hatch doors and locate the power unit. Check that the power supply going into the unit is fully plugged in and hasn’t come dislodged.
